Telkomvision selects Ericsson to enhance tv services in Indonesia

TelkomVision, a pay TV service provider in Indonesia opts Ericsson system to launch new channels across its satellite platform and provides provision for HD services in the future. TelkomVision has selected a system comprising the Ericsson Video Processor Chassis (VPC), EN8130 MPEG 4 AVC encoders and MX8400 multiplexers. The resultant bit-rate savings enable TelkomVision to roll out 36 new channels to its subscribers at optimum quality, said a statement.

He added, “Pay TV is becoming more widespread throughout Indonesia, but in order to ensure further uptake, we must provide the greatest value possible. Ericsson's solutions enable us to do just that — we can offer more channels than ever before, at even greater quality than viewers are used to. In addition, we now have the infrastructure to support the introduction of HDTV in the future.
