Telkom Indonesia join hands with IBM for data center

Telkom Indonesia has signed with IBM to build data center and provide data center operations services in the country.

This collaboration is expected to address the needs of organizations across industries in Indonesia for data center solutions, supported by reliable communication networks.

IBM will design and build the data center to the highest standards of energy efficiency, ensuring optimal utilization of resources. As a tier 4 data center, it will be designed to provide maximum uptime, enabling organizations to host their mission critical computer systems. Also, utilizing the power of analytics, the data center will be able to rationalize the IT infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, while reducing operating costs.

Telkom also worked with IBM to address critical location challenges, such as Indonesia's frequent earthquakes and tropical storms that can potentially bring down key communications networks. The data center, designed to endure natural disasters, is backed-up by power generators and systems that support the main power and electricity to ensure uninterrupted operations.

IBM has designed and delivered more than 1,000 modular data centers for customers around the globe helping customers save up to 30 percent in energy costs per year compared to traditional data centers.
