Telemex has selected Alcatel-Lucent as its key supplier, for the deployment of a fast broadband access network in Mexico.
The access network will be based on VDSL2 and GPON technologies, and will meet the growing demand for connectivity, high-speed internet, and high-bandwidth applications, such as video-on-demand, entertainment, social networks and other services.
Telemex is a Mexico based telecom operator, with Alcatel Lucent as its strategic supplier for a wide range of technology solutions including- VDSL2 broadband access technology; GPON technology, and IP/MPLS carrier Ethernet solution.
''With our advanced broadband access technologies, the new network will allow Telmex to reliably move huge amounts of traffic and multimedia content to remote areas, with better quality signals, ultra high speeds of up to 100 megabits per second per subscriber, and substantial savings in maintenance costs,'' said Pierre Chaume, CEO, Alcatel-Lucent Mexico.
