Telecom Italia joins hand with Amazon to deliver Amazon mobile app

Telecom Italia and Amazon signed an agreement to deliver Amazon app on TIM devices. The services will be available by 2013 end.
"This initiative confirms Telecom Italia's commitment towards the development of mobile commerce, a market that will see a significant growth in the coming years especially thanks to the increased penetration of smartphones and tablets worldwide, as well as providing its customers an easy way to access and enjoy the very best mobile shopping and reading apps," the company said in its statement.

"The preloaded Amazon mobile app will allow TIM customers to easily browse and shop for products, compare prices, read reviews and make purchases quickly and easily from wherever they are. With Kindle for android app TIM customers will benefit of a great reading experience on Android devices, with immediate access to Kindle Store with more than 60,000 Kindle books in Italian and more than 2 mn titles in English and other languages," it said.

"This agreement, paving a new road in the collaboration between mobile operators and online retailers, is the result of a jointly defined innovative strategy and of a growing attention of Telecom Italia in developing win-win relations with global players, aiming at enriching our customer's digital experience" says Marco Patuano, CEO, Telecom Italia.
