The Telangana state government is getting ready to enter the market and compete with commercial operators like Airtel, Jio, Act, and BSNL in an effort to offer high-quality broadband internet services. The ambitious Telangana Fibre Grid project, commonly known as T-Fiber, is getting ready to launch on a commercial scale soon. Through a vast optical fibre network, this effort seeks to provide high-speed internet access to every home, public building, and private business in the state's rural districts.

According to Sujai Karampuri, Managing Director of T-Fiber, the initiative has already covered a network of 8,000 villages in the state, in accordance with a story from the NewIndianExpress. T-Fiber is soon to begin delivering its services commercially, and it is anticipated that these services will be more reasonably priced than those provided by private businesses.

T-Fiber has established end-to-end connections that are ready for service in 12 districts, and four more will follow suit by the end of this month. The network is completely capable of providing IPTV services to families as well as high-speed internet to individuals, businesses, and public organisations.

The Telangana government launched T-Fiber a few years ago to bring broadband connectivity to every home and take advantage of this technical progress. The government created a special organisation named Telangana Fibre Grid Corporation Ltd. to make it easier to roll out network infrastructure and optical fibre throughout the state.

T-Fiber will make use of the right-of-way (RoW), trenching, and ducting already in place by building on the infrastructure developed as part of the well-known Mission Bhagiratha. The courses of the state's water pipelines, which have previously been traced, will be followed by the optical fibre cables. The network is built to provide homes with speeds between 4 and 100 Mbps and businesses and institutions with on-demand speeds between 20 and 100 Mbps.

Over 47 lakh households, 1 lakh public and private businesses, organisations, and institutions in Telangana are expected to receive fibre access as a result of the initiative. Every home will be connected to the massive fibre network, which will be spread across 10 zones and span 33 districts, 8778 gramme panchayats, and 10,128 villages.
