Tech Mahindra Q2 profit dips 13%

Tech Mahindra has reported a drop of 13% in profit after tax(PAT) in its second quarter ending september 30 2011,on quarter on quarter(QoQ) basis.

The net profit of Q2 2011 reached Rs 240.44 cr, compared to Rs 276.50 cr in the first quarter of the FY11-12.

However the revenue of the company for the quarter reached Rs 1,333 cr with an increase of 8% compared to the revenue of Rs 1234 cr in the year ago quarter, and Rs 1292.58 cr in the Q1 of 2011.

The operating profit(EBITDA) of the company stood at Rs 204 cr, with a drop of 15% on (QoQ) basis.

The earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 18.98, compared to Rs 21.89 in the Q1 of same year.

As of September 30, 2011, the company's total headcount stood at 43,657 including the addition of 807 employees during the quarter. Software Professional headcount stood at 26,665, while that of BPO stood at 15,875 and support staff was at 1,117.
