TCS sets up Global Delivery Center for AT&T Wireless

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global software and services consulting

company, has announced the setting up of a Global Delivery Center (GDC) for

Redmond, Washington based AT&T Wireless (AWS) at its Tidel Park Facility,

Chennai. The center will focus on supporting AWS' mission critical applications

in customer systems and enterprise support areas. TCS will work on proprietary

as well as third party systems for AWS to deliver scalable, reusable and

globally deployable solutions. This center is expected to grow over the next

year to support AWS' growth plans. The Global development center working on

various AT&T projects has a capacity of 200 consultants, which can be scaled

up in the future. Speaking on the occasion, Mohan Gyani, CEO, AT&T Wireless,

said, "The setting up of the TCS-AWS GDC is an important development for

us. AT&T Wireless has grown significantly in an increasingly competitive

market where time to market is critical to business. We are confident the

TCS-AWS relationship will help us deliver value to our customers."

cost-effective value-added services to its customer," said S Ramadorai,

CEO, TCS. "This is a strategic relationship for TCS and we will be working
