Tatas Set up Telecom Enterprise Business Unit

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL), Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL), Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd (TTML) and Tata Internet Services Ltd (TISL) have announced the formation of a specialized sales and marketing team called 'Telecom Enterprise Business Unit' (TEBU). The TEBU, which would undertake specialized sales and marketing activities on behalf of the four companies, would be the single point interface through which the Group's four telecom companies would deliver telecom services to key corporate customers. The TEBU would thereby enable the four companies to offer integrated voice and data solutions under the Group's Telecom umbrella brand, Tata

Indicom. 

The initiative marks the first significant step towards tapping market synergies between the four companies so as to address the changing needs of the Corporate. The Management Council (MC) of TEBU was formed after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the four companies. The Management Council of the TEBU comprises the following six members: Firdose A Vandrevala, MD, Tata Power Ltd, S Ramakrishnan MD, TTSL, SK Gupta, MD, VSNL, N Srinath, Director (Operations), VSNL, Kevin Caruso, Telecom Consultant, Tata Industries and Raju Bhinge, CEO, Tata Strategic Management Group. The MC, Chaired by Vandrevala, appointed Ajay Pandey, COO, TTML (till recently) and CEO, TISL, as the President of the

TEBU. 

The key role of the TEBU, as conceptualized by the Group, is focused business development, wherein the TEBU, on behalf of the four companies, will target Enterprises with sizable telecom spends and offer them

customized end-to-end voice and data solutions, under the Tata Indicom brand. TEBU's services include: 

Voice (Local, National Long Distance and International Long Distance) Data (Internet Bandwidth, IP-based VPN services, International Data Services (IPLC's and Frame Relay Services), Data Center Services (Hosting and co-location services), Managed Services like Mail Messaging and Security, Other VAS like Video Conference and Net Telephony.

Industry-specific Value Added Services: TV broadcasting, INMARSAT Services for the Maritime Industry and Credit Card solutions.
