Tatas, Bharti Get LoIs for Bengal Circle

The Tatas and Bharti group has got letters of intent (LoI) to acquire unified access licenses to offer GSM-based mobile services in the West Bengal circle, taking their tallies to 12 and 22 circles respectively. Last month, Bharti had applied for unified licenses for six circles including Rajasthan, J&K, UP-East, Bihar, Orissa and West Bengal, while Tata group has already received LoIs for Haryana, Punjab, UP-West, Kerala, Kolkata, Rajasthan, Bihar, UP-East, Himachal and MP.
