Tata Indicom Enterprise Business Unit Targets Revenues of Over Rs. 550 Crore

The Tata Indicom Enterprise Business Unit (TIEBU), the specialized sales and marketing team of the Group"s Telecom Service providers, announced that it is targeting revenues in excess of Rs. 550 Crore in the first year of operations. The unit also stated that it has successfully commenced its operations across 8 cities in India i.e. Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune and
Ahmedabad.

The TIEBU, which was formed early last month after the signing of an MoU between VSNL, Tata Teleservices Limited, Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited and Tata Internet Services Limited, will be the single point interface through which the companies will deliver telecom services to key corporate customers. The TIEBU will thereby enable the four companies to offer integrated voice and data solutions under the Group"s Telecom umbrella brand, Tata Indicom. The formation of TIEBU therefore offers its corporate customers the benefits of enhanced cost efficiency in business, access to cutting edge technology, greater attention, consultation and the convenience of end-to-end customized voice and data solutions through a single interface. The initiative is designed to tap market synergies between the four companies so as to address the changing needs of the
Corporates.

Speaking about the importance of the Delhi market to TIEBU, Pandey added, "New Delhi is a significant market for the TIEBU as it holds great market potential in the voice and data space. With Delhi being the political capital of the country and the headquarters for some of the largest Public Sector enterprises and with Gurgaon having rapidly developed into a BPO hub of the country, the city holds great potential to be unlocked in the high-end telecom space." The key role of the TIEBU, as conceptualized by the Group, is focused business development; wherein the TIEBU, on behalf of the four companies, will target Enterprises with sizable telecom spends and offer them
customized end-to-end voice and data solutions, under the Tata Indicom brand. The TIEBU, which is an initiative based on extensive feedback from customers, will continue to offer the customers, the widest portfolio of telecom services. 

TIEBU"s services include Local, NLD, ILD, internet bandwidth, IP-based VPN services, International Data services (IPLC"s and Frame Relay Services), data centre services (Hosting and co-location services), managed services like mail messaging and security, Other VAS like video conference, net telephony, industry-specific value added services, TV broadcasting,
INMARSAT services for the maritime industry, and credit card solutions. The TIEBU now comprises of over 100
professionals. TIEBU has organized itself in Industry Vertical Groups.
