Tata Docomo enhances 3G reach in Karnataka

Tata Docomo, the GSM brand of Tata Teleservices, is expanding its 3G network coverage in Karnataka by adding additional 1,000 cell sites that would take its total network footprints to over 3,100 cell sites by July 31, 2014.

The 3G network coverage will be extended to 53 towns across Karnataka, covering all major cities/towns--Bagalkot, Shimoga, Bellary, Tumkur, Chikmaglur, Bhadravati, Chikballapur, Chitradurga, Davangere, Raichur, Gagag, Gokak, Kolar, Mandya, Gangavathi, Gadag, Sira, Madikeri, Koppal, Yadagir, Hassan.

At present, it covers 10 major towns namely Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Manipal, Udupi, Hubli, Belgaum, Dharwad, Hospet and Gulburga in Karnataka.

At the same time, Tata Docomo has launched its new 3G packages for its GSM customers. It is offering 100 MB of 3G data absolutely free. The ‘Power’ 3G recharge’ is priced at Rs 155 and offers 1 GB of 3G data with validity of 30

days.

The company is investing heavily to strengthen its retail presence. Currently, it has 50,000 retail outlets in the region and 84 technologically advanced brand retail stores across key towns in Karnataka.

Tata Docomo is the only player in the market that offers a portfolio of data services comprising of 3G, Photon, GSM and CDMA for consumers as well as enterprises.

Tata Teleservices has a pan-India presence across India’s 19 telecom circles. The company offers telecom solutions to its customers under the unified brand name Tata Docomo.

Earlier this month, Reliance Communications announced the launch of 3G services in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and UP-East.
