Tata Communications launches its data centre at Pune

Tata Communications has unveiled its data center in the country. The data center would offer services including Co-location, Managed Hosting & Storage and a suite of complementary services including Managed Security Services and CDN services. The Pune IDC will reside on Tata Communications' Tier-1 IP backbone enabling it to provide high capacity Internet, MPLS and global Ethernet services. Sunil Joshi — president, India, and APAC & MENA Regions at Tata Communications, said, “We are very pleased to announce the availability of the Pune IDC for our domestic and global customers. The Centre will provide a state-of-the-art infrastructure for supporting mission critical environments, with advanced cooling, power, redundancy, and sustainability features to ensure that our client's critical systems and applications are readily available while optimizing energy efficiency. The Centre has enough resources to double its area to be able to continue to serve the future needs of our customers. The launch of this datacenter is a demonstration of Tata Communications commitment to its India and International customers to support their business needs while providing end-to-end solution for connectivity, storage and hosting capabilities.” The Pune data center will serve the hosting, storage and connectivity needs of large enterprises and Small and Medium Business in the region, while also serving as a disaster recovery facility for enterprises that are present in other key business centers across India or nearby countries.
