CyberMedia Research (CMR), a front runner in market research, has concluded its study titled, “India tablet usage and Adoption Trends 2013”, its finding predicts a scope for tablet to occupy the market space in the year ahead.
CMR's “India tablet usage and Adoption Trends 2013” is an outcome of its study conducted across 20 cities covering sampling of 3600 respondents which includes of 2400 users and 1200 non-users of Tablets, aged grouped in between 13 to 55 years and conducted during the month of September, October and November 2013. The Study aims at identifying triggers and barriers for purchase and use of Tablets and understanding the key trends of Tablets usage and need-gaps prevalent in the market.
The Study shows portability and mobility being the key factor triggering the purchase and social networking and entertainment on the go being its utmost reason. The study indicates tablets emerging as a preferred form of communication with 40% consumers using their tablets enormously for chatting, messaging and email. Answering the haunch if Tablets wold replace PC's, 78% of the respondents were of the opinion that there is still some gaps to be filled in before Tablets become the primary computing device. However on the better picture a favorable time awaits Tablet according to CMR's study, with 10% of the non user showing strong interest to own a Tablet.
Apalak Ghosh, Lead Analyst, Emerging Technologies Research, CMR firmly belives that, “A growing desire for choice in functionality, price and device ecosystem supported by attractive combination of size and other features are what customers are looking while deciding on their choice of devices," he substantiate on the findings.
Moreover looking at the device service and operator and its kind of user's engaged, the CMR's study shows 87% of respondents prefers for Android- based Tablets and 10% prefers Apple iPad. Samsung enjoys the share with both user and non- user preferring the brand's device. And on the endnote 43% of Tablets user roots from earnings of Rs.20.000 to Rs.40,000 per month ensuring its stay for a longer period in the coming years.
