SPB and StarHub partners

SPB TV has been licensed to become a part of StarHub TV on Mobile - mobile television from the major Singaporian cellular network operator. It is not only the client-side application that is being licensed but also the server-side software installed and integrated with the carrier's billing system. With this move, StarHub is now ready to supply their subscribers with 24 TV channels in demand (such as CNN, BBC and Bloomberg) and followed by such features as picture-in-picture, fast channel switching, integrated TV guide and more. The new TV solution currently supports Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Android-based smartphones, with support for Symbian-based Nokia phones and Apple iPhone to come soon. Several handset vendors, including Acer, HTC, LG, Motorola, RIM, Samsung and Sony Ericsson have acted as launch partners. Chan Kin Hung, head of products and solutions,StarHub said, "Working closely with award-winning software developer SPB, we have empowered our mobile TV customers with the ability to better control their mobile TV viewing with a user-friendly interface and powerful features. With 24 cable TV channels on mobile, it is important for us to make TV-viewing on mobile as simple as that on television for customers."
