Singapore Telecommunications(SingTel) is expanding its data hosting capabilities in Hong Kong with the launch of the SingTel EXPAN Tseung Kwan O Data Centre at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park in Sai Kung.
The new centre complements SingTel's existing data centre in Shatin and will cater to the increasing needs from enterprises in the Greater China region.
The Tseung Kwan O Data Centre is supported by SingTel's extensive fibre and cable networks, which allows customers to enjoy a consistent level of service quality throughout the entire network.
Enterprises can also leverage SingTel's comprehensive suite of managed services to enable their IT operations such as managed network solutions, unified communications, video solutions, security solutions, and systems integration.
"The SingTel Tseung Kwan O Data Centre offers enterprises in the Greater China region a secure, world-class co-location data hosting facility. With the commissioning of this new centre, SingTel's EXPAN data centre footprint will grow to 14 in the Asia Pacific region. SingTel's customers can leverage our global hosting capabilities and Wide Area Network (WAN) to connect their offices around the world. Together with SingTel's network of regional data centres, Tseung Kwan O Data Centre enables MNCs to diversify their network and strengthen their geographical presence," said Goh Boon Huat, Vice President, Business Products at SingTel Group Enterprise.
"Designed to fulfill the Uptime Institute Tier 3 certification, the Tseung Kwan O Data Centre is replete with robust data centre features which enable enterprises to achieve high service level availability. These include redundant capacity components, independent power distribution paths for servers and IT equipment," the company said in a statement.
According to Frost and Sullivan, Hong Kong's data centre market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 15.3 per cent to US$ 802.6 million by 2019**.
