Samsung’s new Galaxy range to hit shelves mid-January

Samsung India has launched mid-segment smartphones --Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7, which are priced at Rs 20,500, Rs 25,500, Rs 19,300 and Rs 23,000, respectively.

All the four smartphones run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS with Samsung TouchWiz UI, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 CPU.

Powered by a 1,900 mAh battery, Galaxy A3 features a 4.5-inch qHD display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and sports an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.

On the memory front, it has 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage space.

The A5 has a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display along with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP rear camera. The device comes with a 4G LTE Cat4 modem and has 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory. It is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery.

Galaxy E5 comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED display while the E7 has a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display. The E5 comes with 1.5GB RAM, 16GB internal memory (64GB expandable), 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera and 2400 mAh battery.

However, the Galaxy E7 has 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory (64GB expandable) and 2950 mAh battery.

The company claims Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 to be the slimmest smartphones.

"India is the first country for the launch of Galaxy E5 and E7, reaffirming its position as a key market for Samsung globally. The launch of new dual-sim smartphones will further strengthen Samsung's product portfolio in the mid-range segment," Asim Warsi, VP - Marketing, Mobile & IT, Samsung India said here.
