BENGALURU: Considered to be the next big thing in mobility, Samsung Electronics’ flagship Galaxy Note5 has hit Indian retail stores. The device represents Samsung’s commitment to the big screen smartphone market, which Samsung pioneered in 2011 with the original Galaxy Note.
The Galaxy Note5 will be available in the Indian markets from September 20, 2015, at a price of Rs 53,900 for the 32GB memory variant and Rs 59,900 for the 64GB variant. The smartphone will be available in Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium colors.
With an all-new design, the Galaxy Note5 provides competent productivity tools with its signature S Pen. It is said to be a perfect blend of form and function with industry leading features, including the best screen technology, the most advanced camera for high quality photos and videos, the fastest wireless and wired charging, and an incredibly powerful processor. With increased 4GB RAM, the smartphone offers powerful capacity and processing power, enabling users to enjoy more seamless multi-tasking, keep up with messages, post updates to social networks faster, and enjoy graphic-heavy games without suffering lag time.
Speaking at the launch, H C Hong, President and CEO, Samsung India Electronics, said, “India is an important market for Samsung and is among the first few markets where the Galaxy Note5 has been rolled out. The launch is a step in meeting our commitment to Make for India,” he added.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is equipped with multiple features designed and implemented by the R&D team in India. Ranging from the multimedia capabilities of the Galaxy Note5 to some of the browser functions, the Indian R&D team has played a key role in the overall development of the device.
The revered camera modes of the Galaxy devices have been enhanced by the Live Video Broadcast feature, which has been designed locally. Apart from this, features including Video Collage, Video Highlight, Shortcut Promotion Banner, One Touch Audio Controller and Quick Access 2.0 have been designed and implemented by the R&D team in India.
The device flaunts an all-new design, combining precision cut metal and smooth glass for a refined look. The dynamic reflective back surface is accentuated by the brilliant colors to give a jewel like look to the device. The Galaxy Note5 features a narrower bezel and curved back that lets the device ergonomically fit in one hand. The flat screen is great to write on and the curved 3D glass back allows for an optimal grip.
Engineered to help people get more done faster, the Galaxy Note5 includes the all-new S Pen that feels more solid and balanced in the user’s hand, offering improved writing capabilities and a variety of practical tools. A unique clicking mechanism offers a joyful experience of popping the S Pen out with just one quick click. Users can now quickly jot down ideas or information when the screen is off without even unlocking the phone. The ‘Air Command’ feature gets more intuitive and practical as well; now the icon hovers for instant access to all of S Pen tools from any screen at any time. Users can also annotate on PDF files and capture lengthy web articles or long images at once via ‘Scroll capture’.
