Russian and Norwegian government has sought the help of Indian government in the wake of cancellation of 2G spectrum licenses. The Russian Government has conveyed that Sistema Shyam Telecommunications (SSTL) has invested over US$ 3 billion in the telecom sector, but its license has been cancelled due to some legal problems. Norwegian Government has sought an interaction to discuss the verdict of the Supreme Court on the cancellation of the 2G licences which involves the Norwegian company, Telenor.
All the 122 Unified Access Services (UAS) licences granted in the year 2008 has been quashed by the Supreme Court of India in its judgement dated February 2nd, 2012 in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 423 of 2010 with Writ Petition (Civil) No. 10 of 2011. This judgement would become operative after four months from the date of the judgement.
