Research In Motion has launched three new BlackBerry 7 OS smartphones including Bold 9790, Curve 9350 and Curve 9380 in the country.The company says that the phones have been customised according to the needs of the Indian users.
The BlackBerry Bold 9790 possesses the combination of keyboard, with a high resolution touch display and an optical trackpad, in a slim and narrow design.The phone offers a 1GHz processor running on the BlackBerry 7 OS and comes with an 8GB onboard memory, expandable upto 32 GB.The phone is priced at Rs 27,490 by the company.
The BlackBerry Curve 9350 is the company's first CDMA based smartphone running on 7 OS which is launched in India.The phone comes with a 5 megapixel camera with flash and video recording and an expandable memory of 32GB, with an included GPS and Wi-Fi support.The company has kept the phone's price at Rs 20,990 and is partnering with Tata and Reliance Communication in order to provide CDMA services with the phone.
The BlackBerry Curve 9380 is the first ever Curve smartphone with an all-touch display and features a 3.2'' high resolution all touch display, virtual keyboard and optical trackpad.Priced at Rs 20,990, the phone comes with preinstalled social networking applications such as BBM (BlackBerryMessenger), Facebook, Twitter, and Social Feeds. The handset also has a 5MP camera with flash and video recording.
''These new BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curve smartphones offer compact designs with faster performance, enhanced browsing and richer multimedia, as well as NFC support,'' said Krishnadeep Baruah, Director of Marketing, RIM India.
The BlackBerry 7 OS provides a faster and richer user experience with improved browsing, voice-activated searches and support for Augmented Reality and NFC (Near Field Communications). It also includes the ability to manage personal content separately from corporate content, and comes with a variety of personal and productivity apps out of the box, said the Canada based company.
The three smartphones according to the company are expected to be available across the country in the first week of December.
