Reliance Infocomm washes hands of call routing case

MUMBAI: Reliance Infocomm today said that the officials accused by the CBI in
the alleged auto-routing of international calls as local calls were not part of
the Reliance ADA Group.

"The reported criminal case registered by the CBI pertains to the
alleged rerouting of international calls prior to the reorganisation of the
Reliance group, at which point of time Reliance Infocomm was under the previous
management,” a Reliance Communications spokesperson said. 

”The officials accused by the CBI are from the Reliance Industries Ltd. 

(RIL) group, and have nothing to do with the Reliance ADA group. Manoj Modi
currently heads the retail business of RIL and Shankar Adwal looks after
Government Relations for RIL in Delhi," the spokesperson added.

The CBI had registered a case against four senior officials of Reliance
Infocomm after a year's probe into auto-routing of international calls. Apart
from Reliance Infocomm officials, a few BSNL officials were also included as
accused in the case, reports said.
