Reliance Globalcom has build world's first mediterranean gateway and hub at Cyprus to enable US and European multinationals connect with Asia and Middle East with HAWK cable system.
This network will connect the region with the fastest growing 3G/4G markets of India, Middle East and Asia covering 60 percent of world population, to Europe.
The mediterranean gateway is integrated in European network, having its presence in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Amsterdam and United Kingdom amongst others and is also connected to the USA gateway in New York and Virginia.
The cable system has been built with a design capacity of 16 terabytes per second and one of the ultra mega capacity cables, and integrates in Reliance global network at Cyprus and France. This capacity will enable all of Europe and Middle East citizens to have simultaneous video conference.
''HAWK offers connectivity to Mediterranean Hub that will help our 2,000 multinational customers to extend network in new regions leveraging high speed, high quality global network of Reliance,'' said Punit Garg, president & CEO, Reliance Globalcom.
''In the first quarter of 2012, this network will be integrated to our Egyptian hub and extend connectivity across Asia network with presence in more than 30 countries,'' he further added.
Reliance has partnered with PrimeTel, a provider of fixed line and TV services in Cyprus for hubbing and gateway of mediterranean region. In addition, both companies will cooperate to connect customers to Reliance global network.
