RB Comtec Ties up with Optibase for Streaming Solutions

Delhi based RB Comtec an organization focused on distribution of electronic
components and telecommunications equipment is gearing itself up to provide the
video streaming solutions for a number of applications in the Indian region. The
company has tied up with Israel based Optibase, a broadband media gateway and
streaming platforms provider for distributing their products, solutions and
services in the Indian sub continent. "We have an exclusive alliance with
Optibase to provide their solutions and products with the technical support in
India. Initially we will be targeting the telemedicine, video on demand,
distance learning and corporate training for our set of products," said, AS
Sriram, Manager at RB Comtec, Hyderabad. Under the agreement RB Comtec is going
to provide the media gateway series and the moviemaker series within the
country. "Its not only the solutions that matters in this industry,
everybody wants a complete products and solutions support and we have a team
dedicated towards that. So we are engaged in talks with Ramoji studios for
providing video streaming to them," he informed.

MGW 2000 transmits multiple channels of live TV and video over IP networks.
It can receive up to six live analog signals, encode them in real- time to MPEG-
1 or MPEG- 2 and then stream them over an IP network in multicast or unicast
mode. MGW 2000 also supports near on- demand transmission of 10 pre- recorded
streams, including MP3 files. With MGW 2000, operators and organizations can
utilize their DSL, fiber and Ethernet LANs for IP- based TV broadcasts.

MPEG MovieMaker 200S, Optibase's line of MPEG and Dolby Digital encoding
platforms, uses sophisticated technology to provide a wide choice of options.
MPEG MovieMaker 200S offers the full range of video and audio interfaces, video
resolutions, audio encoding formats and MPEG multiplexing capabilities - all on
a single half-size PCI encoding board. MPEG MovieMaker 200S boards are fully
integrated with Optibase's video streaming and networking platforms.

digital video delivery over IP or ATM networks. MPEG MovieMaker 200S Networker
offers features such as low delay, multi-board support and unbalanced audio

into applications such as Business TV, WebTV, distance learning, and video
surveillance solutions. We are also talking to Apollo hospital to provide
solutions for their telemedicine project in AP," he explained.
