For MRO-Tek, the negative factors effecting the Indian environment had a
telling tale on its booming growth in 2001-02. MRO-Tek managed a total sales of
Rs 84.85 crore during FY 2001-02. The impact was more apparent on MRO-Tek than
others, as digital modems accounted for the largest share of its revenue, and
the ISP sector was literally dull. Despite the lull, it remained the leader in
this category. Its total sales from leased line modems was over Rs 63 crore. One
of the key achievements for this company has been the accomplishment of 1 lakh
miles of network connectivity.
Courting growth strategies to enable strong top- and bottom-lines has been
the key characteristic for this networking major.
As part of that strategy to consolidate further, it concentrated on
leveraging its core strength of engineering skills. It added new products and
set up in-house R&D center for a host of LAN-WAN solutions. It formed a JV
company in Singapore for network design jobs and is in the process of setting up
a JV company in Malaysia for exports.

MRO-Tek derives strength from partnerships. In the current fiscal, it plans
to add fiber optic and VoIP products to its list. It has opened up new marketing
offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Chennai, to fuel growth aggressively.
