HCL Perot Systems (HPS), the joint venture between HCL Technologies and Perot
Systems Corporation, is today one of the youngest enterprise-wide SEI-CMM Level
5 company in the world. This company, in the telecom vertical, has done a total
business of Rs 57.6 crore. It offers telecom software solutions through an
onsite-offshore virtual model.
The company offers services in switching and signaling around DWDM, SONET,
ATM, FR and IP along with SS7, wireless services for the current networks and
for the migration to 3G standards, network management solutions, OSS/BSS
integration solutions, and IP telephony. It also offers embedded solutions.
During the fiscal 2001-02, HPS adopted a ‘near site’ business model to
rope in global companies in the US and in the European region. The strength of
the company lies in its ability to offer a complete solutions portfolio. Its
approach is to do business through partnerships with the best of technology,
products and solution providers. The edge it has gained is on account of its
inherent strengths in solution design, development and implementation. With a
lot of activities happening on the wireless front, HPS has a good deal of
opportunities to tap in this market in the fiscal 2002-03.
