Growing
at the rate of 27.72 percent, It clocked a turnover of Rs 24.6 crore. The
company installed 80 VSATs last fiscal and increased its tally to 219. It’s a
50:50 JV of Shyam Microsat Ltd, a company of Shyam Group, and Rama Associates
Ltd, a company of Essel Group. On the technology front, the company has a tie-up
with STM Wireless Inc.

The company established its first hub at Noida and provides
TDM/TDMA, DAMA, X-DAMA, and hybrid technologies for voice, data, fax, and video
transfer.
In the last fiscal, the company bagged orders of 300 VSATs
from Press Trust of India (PTI) of which 50 have been installed. The client list
also includes TV18 and Rainbow productions. The company also had the privilege
to do the complete network for Maharashtra Police.
Under its distance education umbrella, IGNOU has chosen Essel
Shyam as its VSAT partner for implementation of 150 VSATs connecting its
different centres. The company has already implemented around 50 VSATs.
The company has applied for third-fourth transponder-space each in the
Extended C-band and Ku-band transponders in the INSAT 3B satellite for expanding
its operations. In this fiscal, the company is trying to promote Internet
Carrier distributions by tying up with SMS, UK, and Hong Kong Telecom.
