Its growth was led from the product side, with the bulk of
its revenues coming from the sale of PBT, cellular phones, and SIM. While PBT
generated revenues worth Rs 42.30 crore, the cellular products fetched it Rs
31.30 crore. The business communications segment fetched it Rs 32.50 crore.
Transmission equipment brought in Rs 21.20 crore. For the company, the total
product sales revenue was over Rs 130 crore.
The biggest achievement has been the performance of its new businesses and
products group. The group, under the aegis of Advanced Network Systems, is
focused on wireless solutions and systems integration of telecom networks. It
bagged and completed several turnkey radio trunking projects with clients like
ONGC and set up "C" category Internet nodes for DoT (AP). Through this
activity, it netted Rs 22 crore. Together with this and software services, it
will be a strong contender in the broadband market in the future. To support all
its activities, it has a design and development centre which is providing
software and hardware design capabilities to manufactures like Nortel and Analog
Devices.
