STRENGTH Backward integration projects WEAKNESS OPPORTUNITY THREAT |
The company fulfilled around 24 percent of the country’s
total demand of 87,000 kilometres for OFC. Apart from supplying to DoT, it also
met demands from private sector companies like Reliance Telecom and Punj Llyod.
In fact, Aksh was one of the two suppliers of OFC in India that did not default
on the DoT orders.
Aksh has two state-of-the-art manufacturing plants at Bhiwadi
in Rajasthan. The company is hopeful that the growing demand for OFC in the
country will help sustain the current growth level. The company has made new
investments worth Rs 41.24 crore for backward integration projects for enhancing
its fibre and cable manufacturing capacity. It is also looking for going in for
an IPO in the coming months. The company has also patented a two-fibre
direct-to-home OFC product. It is expected to market this product as a more
efficient and powerful last mile access alternative to JFTC.
What makes Aksh’s position enviable from other OFC manufacturers is the
fact that it is one of the very few manufacturers, which can influence
availability of optic fibres, the raw materials used for making OFCs. It is now
planning to use this advantage for transforming itself into India’s largest
OFC manufacturer.
