Pinyon Technologies and Sasken Communication are on a strategic partnership to deliver LTE mobile broadband product solutions for service providers worldwide. The duo have developed a 4G LTE WiFi dongle. This AirWire LTE WiFi dongle uses LTE broadband with peak download speeds up to 100 Mbps. The device will be available for mass consumption in Q2 2014.
It incorporates Pinyon's proprietary, patented antenna technology maximizing LTE and WiFi wireless performance, and Sasken's engineering expertise in integrating the hardware and software to expedite the time to market. The product is based on Sequan's LTE baseband and RF chipsets and Marvell's WLAN platform.
Pinyon Technologies, mobile wireless networking products supplier with proprietary antenna solutions based upon its patented AirWire technology. Sasken Communications is a R&D technology solution provider.
"We are pleased to be partnering with Sasken to offer a true mobile networking device for India, China, Bangladesh and other TD-LTE markets that will provide consumers with better connectivity and better throughput," said Debashis Bagchi, Pinyon Technologies CEO.
The AirWire LTE WiFi dongle (which looks similar to a fold design mobile phone) provides Internet connectivity through a WiFi hotspot or a USB connection. The hotspot operates standalone, connecting multiple devices. Laptops, gaming consoles, iPads and any WiFi device can now access the Internet anywhere through LTE broadband. The AirWire LTE WiFi dongle can be connected directly to a computer through the USB port, focusing LTE data speeds of 100bps into a device. It supports LTE-TDD, with future versions supporting LTE-FDD. WiFi supports 802.11 b,g,n conveniently covering all WiFi devices.
"We are very excited about partnering with Pinyon. The combination of Pinyon's differentiating product design with its proprietary technology embedded, and Sasken's engineering expertise in integrating the hardware and software, have culminated into an aesthetically brilliant product and lays the foundation for a very strong and long lasting partnership," said Srinivas Prasad, Vice President at Sasken Communication Technologies Limited
