PayMate partners with Nokia

PayMate, a wireless transactions platform provider has partnered with Nokia for the deployment of its Near Field Communication(NFC) solution. The solution offers users to access content and services with a tap of the mobile phone's button against an NFC touchpoint.

NFC uses radio frequency identification technology with which an NFC compatible device gather information.

The users can even purchase an item by tapping there NFC enabled device against an NFC enabled menu or a tab which they wish to purchase. Along with this the solution can also be used to make payments with the company's PayMate solution, said the company.

''To create awareness around this technology, we have deployed NFC chips with unique content across almost 1,000 Nokia outlets in the country and the consumer response to the ‘Just Tap’ with NFC feature on our smartphones has been very encouraging'', said Viral Oza, director marketing, Nokia India commenting on the technology on company's devices.

The NFC technology is quite popular in technically advanced countries like South Korea and Japan and is even used in the smart cards of Delhi Metro where a commuter pays the fare by touching a point.
