At the summit, NSN is demonstrating its LTE network infrastructure, including its Single RAN Advanced platform, which is based on its award-winning, weather-proof Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station.

The base station is capable of supporting multiple standards, including GSM, 3G and LTE, providing a smooth and cost-efficient technology evolution. With its compact and energy-efficient nature, the base station can reduce capital and operating costs for the operators in Africa, as well as enable smooth refarming.

"The company is demonstrating its LTE infrastructure, including its Single RAN Advanced, and its latest innovation, Liquid Applications, showing how these technologies can be used for eHealth, eLearning, and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications," the company said in the statement.

NSN's superior mobile broadband technologies can enable operators in Africa to provide reliable, faster mobile broadband services for government organizations, enterprises, and individuals to transform the continent, it said.

"Since the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is increasing in the African continent, a reliable, advanced mobile broadband infrastructure is the need of the hour to further drive the socio-economic development here," said Noel Kirkaldy, head of technology, MEA business region, NSN.

As of today, the company has 94 commercial references for the delivery of LTE with leading customers in advanced mobile broadband markets such as Korea, Japan, Northern Europe, and the United States. NSN's LTE technology can enable operators to provide up to 150 Mbps (megabits per second) speed in commercial mobile broadband network for subscribers to enjoy clearer voice calls, better internet connectivity, and high-quality mobile data services.
