Nokia Siemens Networks achieved a record-breaking 56 Mbps peak upload throughput in a TD-LTE network using its commercial 4G base station with multiple antenna technology and a single 20 MHz carrier.
The company pushes the limits of 4G technology with a series of unmatched speed records.
The latest TD-LTE uplink throughput record was set in a test network in Hangzhou, China, where Nokia Siemens Networks celebrated its 15-year commitment to TD technology.
To achieve this uplink milestone, the company used its award-winning Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station, which is commercially available and has been selected by many operators worldwide for their 4G networks. Single User Multiple Input Multiple Output (SU-MIMO) technology, which was applied for the uplink traffic, was one of the keys to reaching the record-breaking throughput speed using a single carrier.
Nokia Siemens Networks now holds uplink records for both SU-MIMO and Multi User-Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) technologies. Last year, the company set two world first records for uplink throughput in TD-LTE networks, the latter of which resulted in a throughput speed beyond TD-LTE-Advanced specifications using multiple carriers. In both cases, Nokia Siemens Networks used its commercial Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station.
