NSN bags deal from Vodafone India

Nokia Solutions & Networks (NSN) has secured a contract from Vodafone India to upgrade and modernize its second- and third-generation networks, the Economic Times reports.

People familiar with the matter said that the contract could be worth nearly $200 mn (Rs 1,225 crore), it said.

Under the five-year deal, single radio access network (RAN) will be deployed to modernize and expand Vodafone's existing radio network. It will cover 19 out of the 22 telecom circles where Vodafone India provides 2G services and six of the nine circles where it has 3G licenses.
