Nokia India appoints P Balaji as MD

P Balaji moves to Nokia India, as the Managing Director, from Sony Ericsson. He had taken over as the MD of Sony Ericsson in July, last year.

At Sony Ericsson, he worked towards establishing the company's leadership position in the Android-based smartphones market in India. Over the last one year, he strengthened relationships with local operators, retailers and consumers.

Prior to this, he was associated with Ericsson India as the vice president, business development, corporate affairs and communications. He managed the activities of marketing, strategy and technical solutions for Ericsson India. He held leadership roles in AT&T, Lucent India and the Tata group,

He is a MBA graduate from IIM Ahmedabad and he holds an electronics engineering degree from IIT Roorkee.
