What do you do when you find yourself heading towards a jam-packed road?
Simply, try maneuvering your vehicle to a de-congested lane. Quite similar to
this is a new software that is likely to make a debut in the global market
soon.IBM Tivoli Software seems to have found a solution to this problem. The
company has developed a software solution which facilitates a self-organized
network (SON) of telecom service providers to address the problem of call
traffic. . With the increase in the user base in countries like India,
organizing telecom traffic has become a major issue. The company is confident
that SON is capable of bringing about a significant change, as it can
automatically adjust the traffic by re-routing the calls through leaner lines in
times of peak call rate. The new technology will result in cost savings of up to
15-25% depending on the scale of operations, the company claims. Operators have
been exploring various options to combat network congestion to provide consumers
the best services. With mobile number portability (MNP) coming into play, it
will be all the more critical for cellular service providers to offer high
quality services.
IBM Tivoli-which is offering its other solutions to Bharti Airtel, Idea
Cellular and Vodafone-is looking at this new product as an opportunity that will
attract more business.
