The bank has deployed NetApp V3220 Open Storage Controllers to enable continuous data availability and integrated storage support for its virtualization initiatives. Now, the lender is planning to build complex solutions into their NetApp infrastructure. It would also set up a near disaster recovery (DR) site, which will result in a three-way replication of data and zero down the time lag between the data being replicated to the site.

With the Open Storage solution, the bank will able to protect critical data and create a solution at reduced cost and complexity, a release said.

Using NetApp deduplication, SVC Bank has successfully removed multiple copies of files so that the same data is not copied in multiple locations when it is copied to the DR site, it added.

“It has been quite a journey so far, and NetApp has been supportive of our IT activities. We have received phenomenal support during our DR-DC shift and during our controller upgrade. It has been a pleasure working with NetApp, without their support, there might have been many sleepless nights,” said Ravikiran Mankikar, Chief General Manager, IT Head, SVC Bank.

“Data is more valuable when it is in the right place. Our solution allows SVC Bank to move data securely between cloud service providers and back to their own data centers as demands change,” said Anil Valluri, President, NetApp India and SAARC.

“As we work with SVC Bank, NetApp’s goal will be to provide solutions that free them from their non-core operations while simultaneously reducing cost and improving efficiency. Going forward with the growing workplace dynamics we will continue to provide storage solutions that are compact, flexible, scalable and optimizes data management,” he added.
