MWC 2013: Aricent unveils Connected Car, VoLTE, Small Cell solutions

Aricent Group has announced the launch of its connected car and connected home solutions and services. Aricent's 'LTE Connected Car' offering enables automotive manufacturers to create innovative in-vehicle infotainment systems (IVI), media entertainment platforms, which help the automotive value chain to enrich infotainment services and provide a seamless extension of media experiences to the car.

Aricent's connected car solution enables users to leverage services like in-car entertainment, remote home monitoring (urveillance), control connected devices at home (thermostats, lights, and TVs), media synchronization between the mobile device and the car head end unit, Wi-Fi handoff, etc.

Enhances VoLTE capabilities

Aricent Group has announced the addition of end-to-end VoLTE capabilities to its comprehensive LTE offering comprising IMS client Application, eNodeB, EPC, and IMS Servers. Besides VoLTE, Aricent Group has made on technologies such as SON, RRM, and LTE-A.

Aricent's VoLTE solution encompasses IMS client, eNodeB, EPC and IMS Servers. Aricent VoLTE Client is available on Android smartphones and is compliant to GSMA IR92 standard. it is available on multiple platforms and devices including iOS, Android, Windows XP, and MAC. Aricent's eNodeb software supports audio specific QoS, on both TDD and FDD modes, necessary to carry enhanced high definition audio and video quality on the LTE network.

The EPC software is configured to support various QoS profiles/classes as defined in IR92 not only for the data traffic but also for different kind of audio and video calls by interfacing with the IMS networks. Aricent's IMS lite, currently under development, is a collapsed IMS core hosting P-CSCF/ I-CSCF/ S-CSCF functions and is tailor made for small and mid subscriber markets.

High Performing 20 MHz Small Cell solution

Aricent Group has unveiled high-performing 20MHz Small Cell reference solution in association with Mindspeed Technologies. Aricent and Mindspeed introduced this integrated eNodeB solution on the Transcede T3300 Baseband Processor supporting 20 MHz LTE FDD and throughputs of up to 150 Mbps

The companies have integrated Aricent's software stacks and Mindspeed's PHY software with the Transcede T3300 baseband processor, especially designed for high performing small cell solutions.

Aricent will demonstrate an integrated LTE offering comprising eNodeB, EPC, a comprehensive VoLTE solution, and the Connected Car and Connected Home solutions at Mobile World Congress 2013 held in Barcelona.
