MWC 2012: Huawei launches world's first 10 inch quad core tablet

Huawei has introduced the world's first 10-inch quad-core tablet, with a 1.5 Ghz quad-core processor at the Mobile World Congress 2012.

The MediaPad 10 FHD with Huawei 1.5GHz quad-core processor, runs on Google Android 4.0 operating system, and offers a 10-inch IPS high definition display screen.

''We have created the MediaPad 10 FHD to excel in all of the entertainment capabilities including speed, power, web-browsing, high definition display and audio, and packaging it all in a compact and portable body,'' said Richard Yu, chairman, Huawei Device.

The 1.5 GHz K3 quad-core processor, according to the Chinese company is the smallest quad-core processor in the industry.The smart device utilizes the K3 chip's embedded GPU, to provide fast processing power, and 3D graphics processing capability for high definition video clips or large-scale 3D games.

Weighing 598grams, the 8.8 mm thin tablet offers a speed of 84 Mbps (HSPA+ 21/42/84Mbps), supporting a number of network standards including LTE. On the multimedia front, it uses Dolby surround sound technology, and is installed with an 8 megapixel rear automatic-focus camera, and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

The MediaPad 10 FHD will be available globally in the second quarter of 2012.
