MTS brand encompasses over 100 mn subscribers globally

Gurgaon: Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL), a joint venture between Sistema of Russia and Shyam Group of India, announced that the number of subscribers that use mobile services under the MTS brand globally, have surpassed 100 mn. MTS brand operates in seven countries, having a total population of more than 1.4 bn people.

Since the foundation of MTS company in Russia in 1993, MTS brand has successfully launched and developed in seven countries - Armenia, Belarus, India, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. MTS is the largest mobile operator in Russia and CIS countries by the number of subscribers. In February 2009, SSTL launched the MTS brand in India.

Speaking on the milestone, Vsevolod Rozanov, President and CEO, said “This is a moment of great pride.
