Motorola Rolls Out 3 New Handsets

Motorola has introduced three new handsets — C330, E360 and T720 in India,
priced at Rs 9,495, Rs 12,995 and Rs 17,995, respectively. The three new
handsets further empower Motorola’s recently launched marketing theme - ‘MotoRising’,
aimed at personalizing the Motorola brand and growing its marketshare in India.
While the C330 is India’s first handset with three customizable body shape
options, the T720 and E360 are its models with color displays. Motorola had
recently introduced MotoRising, its new marketing theme in India and launched
the V70, V60 and V66 models, which integrated the new theme in them.

The C330 is a small and compact handset. The C330 features include three free
customizable front and back exterior covers that change the shape of the phone
completely. Enhanced Messaging Services (EMS), downloadable "themes"
of screensavers, wallpaper, icons and ringtones and the ability to compose
one-of-a kind "ring tunes", voice recognition, iTAP predictive text
entry, incoming call profiling, games are some of the highlighting features
among others. It also has a polyphonic speaker, which presents richer more
exciting sound for the ringtones and games. On the technology front, the C330
has a WAP browser and is GPRS enabled. 

The T720 has a 4,096 color icon-driven display. Its technology features
include always-on high-speed Internet access available via GPRS technology and
Java functionality for adding customized applications and games. Other features
include External LCD display, EMS, customizable four way navigation key,
downloadable wallpapers, screensavers, ringtones, games and applications, dual
language support, polyphonic ringtones, personal information manager, FM stereo,
voice recorder and voice activated dialing among others.

The E360 is also a 4,096 color display with EMS, cell broadcast, group SMS,
chat and iTAP predictive text entry, downloadable - banner, screen savers,
wallpapers and ringtones, customizable caller group and ringer profiles, games
and polyphonic speaker for enriched sound and gaming experience. The dual band
handset is WAP and GPRS enabled.  "The Indian handset market is
growing at a CAGR of over 60 percent making it among the fastest growing markets
in the world. Motorola has sets its target on growing faster than the
market," said Narendra Nayak, Country Operations Manager, Motorola India
PCS. "The launch of C330 in India is central to Motorola’s strategy of
growing its market share in India. The C330 is economically priced to tap the
sub Rs 10,000 category, which accounts for over 60 percent of the handset sales
in India. It offers a strong value proposition by combining functional features,
style and technology in one handset promising to enhance the overall experience
of the maturing Indian consumer," he added.
