Earlier last month, Chinese smartphone brand Meizu Technology (MEIZU) had announced its partnership with UC Browser, the flagship mobile browser of Alibaba Group Company’s UCWeb

As a part of the partnership, Meizu and UC Browser had jointly announced the launch of #UCSecretparty contest that received an overwhelming response, with over 1.2 crore (12.8 million) users taking part in the contest.

As a part of the contest, Meizu gave away 30 Meizu m2’s and 50 earphones, selected lucky winners also won passes to UC Web’s secret party to celebrate the new year of 2016.

The contest garnered attention on social media with celebrities including Yuvraj Singh, Nehu Dhupia and Ranvijay tweeting about it. The party saw presence of many app-lovers, bloggers, tech geeks, netizens and party animals

"UC Browser had announced a new year party where it opened a platform to invite selected UC Browser fans, users and online influencers. To be a part of the party, users had to participate in the UC Browser contest on its Facebook page. To participate, users simply had to press a button to register their chance for winning the passes to the secret party," the company said.

UC Web, the developer behind UC Browser, and smartphone maker Meizu, jointly launched the contest game in December 2015 to add to the year-end festivities and spread cheer. UC Browser is India’s No.1 mobile browser with over 54% market share (as per StatCounter).
