LinkedIn promotes Kevin Scott as senior VP

LinkedIn has promoted Kevin Scott as the senior vice president of engineering, reporting directly to Jeff Weiner, CEO, LinkedIn.

Soctt in his new role will continue to direct key engineering efforts to accelerate innovation and deployment of new services for the company. He joined LinkedIn in February 2011 as vice president of engineering, and played a major role in expanding and enhancing the company's software infrastructure.

Prior to LinkedIn, he served Google leading mobile ads engineering. He also held numerous leadership positions at Google in search and ads engineering.
