LG U+ to implement Cisco's solutions for LTE

LG U+, a Korean telecommunication service provider will be implementing Cisco's mobile internet solutions to deliver voice, video and messaging services for its 4G LTE customers.

The selected Cisco V2oLTE (Voice and Video over Long-Term Evolution) solution, based on its ASR 5000 series multimedia core platform, will help the operator meet the task of carrying voice traffic over LTE.

VoLTE is a standard way of delivering voice and messaging services for Long-Term Evolution (LTE) network, which is an all Internet Protocol (IP) system. The system uses IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) specifications as its basis.

The Cisco ASR 5000 series possesses the control-plane capacity to handle message floods during mass registration events, as well the increasing amount of control traffic occurring as smart devices and applications proliferate.
