Lenovo has launched its Lenovo ThinkPad tablet offering Qualcomm’s Gobi 3000 technology.
The company says that it is the first Android tablet, giving enterprise customers a single mobile platform for use throughout the world.
The Gobi 3000 technology eliminates the need to change hardware to support different carriers or mobile connectivity standards from region to region.
With the new technology, the tablet users can connect to any major US carrier and stay connected with global roaming support while businessing overseas.
''Qualcomm’s Gobi 3000 option on our ThinkPad Tablet lets users easily connect to mobile networks regardless of their location or underlying wireless technology, making their wireless experience truly flexible,''said Tom Butler, Director, ThinkPad Marketing, Lenovo on the launch.
Qualcomm’s Gobi 3000 technology is the only multiband embedded connectivity solution to provide connectivity on all major U.S. carriers and support global roaming on EVDO and HSPA networks, said the company.
