CSG Systems, a global customer care and billing solutions provider, has announced that it was selected as the exclusive billing and customer care subcontractor to support India’s government-owned BSNL launch of GSM mobile services to more than 4 million subscribers. CSG was selected as a subcontractor for the comprehensive contract awarded by BSNL, the governmental agency in charge of delivering wireline and mobile telecommunications services throughout India. The contract, which entails the construction and ongoing support of a GSM mobile infrastructure in south zone, was awarded to Motorola. In addition to CSG, the contracts include other hardware, networking and software companies necessary to build the infrastructure necessary to support these services.
CSG is working with the lead contractor selected by BSNL in the South zone to provide end-to-end billing and customer care solutions, including its CSG Kenan/BP billing product and CSG Kenan/OM. In addition to its award-winning software, CSG’s team of professional services consultants will play a key role in overseeing the integration of both CSG’s solutions as well as the integration of other third-party software with the CSG Kenan suite. "The selection of CSG’s proven suite of solutions for billing and order management–as well as the selection of an extensive team of CSG professional consultants–to support the launch of new mobile services across India is a testament to our strength as a leading global provider of customer care and billing solutions," said Raghav Sahgal, general manager of CSG’s Asia Pacific region. "As a proven technology leader, CSG is proud to support BSNL’s rollout of these services and looks forward to serving as a long-term partner in supporting a growing subscriber base throughout India."
