Karel Considering Indian Manufacturing

Karel of Turkey, one of the big Telecom manufacturers in Europe is said to be considering setting up of a manufacturing unit in India. Its learnt that Indian manufacturing will take care of markets in India, SAARC, and the Middle and Far East.

In India Karel sells its products through Ahmedabad based Intellicon Pvt Ltd, an all India EPABX company. According to Chetan Turakhia, "The business has been quite well. In fact we are looking at 30 percent growth this year". Intellicon had done about Rs 12 crore last year, and expects to cross the Rs 15 crore mark in this fiscal. Intellicon, which has traditionally been a West and South India dominated company is now also enhancing its operations in North and the East.  The company is also getting into CTI products and solutions.
