Karbonn announces strategic partnership with MediaTek

Karbonn and MediaTek have announced a strategic partnership in smartphone business. This major partnership integrates MediaTek's innovative product engineering roadmap into Karbonn's new portfolio of ‘true' octa-core & hexa-core processor based smartphone range.

Under the partnership, Karbonn has introduced a new portfolio of smartphones including Titanium Hexa, Titanium Octane and Titanium Octane Plus. With this partnership Karbonn has become the first Indian brand to offer the ‘KitKat' OS experience to the Indian consumers.

The phones will be available at Rs 16, 990 for the Karbonn Titanium Hexa, Rs14, 490 for the Titanium Octane and Rs17990 for the Titanium Octane Plus, the devices will be ready for shipping from the last week of April 2014.

"Aiming to capture the fastest-growing Indian smartphone market which grew by nearly 229% in 2013, Karbonn's partnership with MediaTek will allow India's #3 smartphone brand to consolidate its domestic market position and make strategic inroads into untapped international markets. The new portfolio with the first-in-industry KitKat OS will bring innovative features like gesture control, extensive voice commands, redefined user interface, faster multitasking and more which will help in attracting more consumers towards BrandKarbonn.," the company said in a statement.
