Juniper Networks Join 5G Consortium
Juniper Networks said in a press release that the companies have been long-time partners. Furthermore, it mentioned that its solutions have been critical in developing Softbank's 5G infrastructure.
These solutions, offered by Juniper, give features such as scalability, reliability and flexibility. Notably, these are all key to Softbank’s 5G networking demands and requirements such as Network Slicing with SRv6.
The said consortium by the Japanese conglomerate, will aim to bring together partners, operators, experts and companies working in 5G. The consortium will then seek to work together to bring proof-of-concept demonstrations to commercialize and adopt 5G solutions across verticals.
Raghavendra Mallya, Vice President, Platform Engineering, Juniper Networks, said, "Juniper Networks is delighted to build on our long-running relationship to partner with Softbank into the 5G era".
He further said, "alongside Softbank and the other members of the Softbank 5G Consortium, we look forward to accelerating the development, commercialization and adoption of 5G solutions – and to continue delivering the superior networking experiences that will transform the way people connect, work and live".
