Flipkart.com, an e-commerce company opted for Juniper Networks' Junos operating system and switches for its Data Center to streamline network administration processes and simplify network management.
Juniper Networks has deployed its EX series Ethernet switches and SRX series services gateways. Juniper Networks EX4200 and EX4500 Ethernet switches with Virtual Chassis technology and SRX3600 Services Gateways offer Flipkart.com a next-generation, low-latency, standards-based, highly secure and scalable data center network infrastructure to cater to the growing demands of its business, said a press note.
Virtual Chassis technology connects the EX4500 switches in Flipkart's 10 Gbps data center network core, as well as the top-of-rack EX4200 switches which enables groups of up to 10 interconnected switches to be managed as a single logical device. This not only simplifies administration but gives its data center carrier-class availability, low-latency performance and horizontal scalability.
“As one of India's largest e-commerce platforms, the level of security threat facing Flipkart is significant. It is therefore essential to have a data center network infrastructure that enables us to scale not only performance but also security, in-line with business demands. Juniper Networks' solution meets these needs admirably while also simplifying network administration and providing pay-as-you-grow economics that benefit our bottom line,” Burzin Engineer, director of engineering, Flipkart.
“As Flipkart continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading e-commerce platform in the country, it requires best-in-class technology that will help it scale, expand and secure the business at the same time. This deployment illustrates the benefits of simplifying the data center network,” said Ravi Chauhan, managing director, Juniper Networks India & SAARC
