Akash Ambani, the son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, has joined Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJI), the telecom unit of Reliance Industries, according to a media report.

He will be involved in the go-to-market strategy of the 4G telecom venture, the report said.

Akash is the eldest son of the family. He is the twin brother of Isha and Anant Ambani. Akash has attended the signing of several important Reliance Industries deals. His participation in such affairs is seen as his father's attempt to get Akash ready for involvement in the family business.

As per the report, "Junior Ambani regularly comes to office and sits in review meetings with his father and Manoj Modi. Akash is also working closely with RJI President Sandip Das. The company doesn't want to talk about it because he is new to the business and learning the ropes."

Akash finished his schooling from the Dhirubhai Ambani International School, which is run by his mother Neeta. During his school days, he was an avid cricketer and was also keen on all sorts of extracurricular activities. When he went to join Brown University for an undergraduate course, Nita spent over a month in the US to settle him there.

In addition, Akash, just like Mukesh, is very warm in his personal relations. A passionate wildlife photographer, Akash often holidays with the rest of the family at wildlife sanctuaries.
