JJ Irani is chairman of Tata Teleservices

Tata Teleservices, the basic operator in Andhra Pradesh has a new
chairman--DR J J Irani, while Adi engineer, the managing director of Tata Power,
has been appointed as the director.

According to a release, three members of the group executive office of Tata
Group -- Kishor Chaukar, R Gopalakrishnan and Ishaat Hussain -- would continue
as members of the Tata Teleservices board, while N S Ramchandran, former
managing director of MTNL and S Ramakrishnan would continue as managing director

Tata Teleservices has also signed up licences to provide telecom services in
Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
